The Ling Institute is excited to host Argentine pianist Pablo Fraguela for a performance featuring renowned tango classics. The set will cover traditional composers like Carlos Gardel, Discepolo, and Anibal Troillo, as well as modern voices such as Piazzolla and Rovira.
Since 1997, Fraguela has been a member of the folk group María y Cosecha, which won the 1999 Festival Pré Cosquín in the Instrumental Group category. The group has released five albums: Miradas (1999), Esencia (2005), Otra Vuelta (2010), Umbral (2013), and Agosto (2018).
As a pianist, arranger, and director of La Grela Quinteto de Tango since 2001, his performances extend from Buenos Aires to international tango festivals. The group's discography includes La Reina del Festín (2014), Superclásico (2017), and Gardel (2019).
Fraguela teaches Argentine music at EMPA, UNSAM, and CSMMF.
