Registrations are currently open for the inaugural FutureGrid Innovation Summit, themed “Advancing grid innovation: growing ideas into impact”, hosted by the Association of European Distribution System Operators (E.DSO) in Brussels on 6 February 2025.

Electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) are crucial to fostering innovation in the energy landscape. Advanced technologies that require significant investments are being developed to achieve the 2030 climate targets and create a smarter energy infrastructure. Additionally, a proactive regulatory and policy framework is being established to support the implementation of these technological innovations. This surge of digitalisation and advancement is essential for enhancing competitiveness in line with the EU’s strategic objectives, ensuring the intelligence and reliability of distribution systems, and empowering consumers.

The E.DSO 1st ‘FutureGrid Innovation Summit’ aims to bring together over 200 stakeholders from various sectors, including industry, businesses, associations, EU institutions, projects, NGOs, and Member States. The summit will feature the ‘Innovation Sparks’ exhibition, which will display transformative technologies and EU-funded initiatives, fostering societal change and creating a notable impact. The 2nd Digital Award will also be unveiled during the summit.

This gathering is made possible with the support of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and in collaboration with EnergyVille. The detailed agenda will soon be available on the official website.
