DAS RESTAURANT
Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz, despite their lack of culinary skills, have decided to open a restaurant together. Simon has played a chef in a film, and Manuel enjoys wine, which they believe gives them enough expertise to succeed. Their upscale restaurant in a rural area aims to overshadow all previous dining experiences, although it might just be a front for poor execution.
When the restaurant catches fire, suspicions of arson arise, particularly for the local policewoman, who seizes the opportunity to investigate alongside the two actors for her podcast.
The investigation leads Manuel and Simon into their past, triggering deep reflections about their lives and questioning whether everyone has a tendency to be a bit of a firestarter in their friendships, careers, or relationships.
For the policewoman, the case seems clear-cut: Rubey is the primary suspect, as it’s famously said that the real culprits might be the gardeners, but the arsonists are always the locals.
