Mattea Roach will host an engaging discussion featuring bestselling author Nita Prose, known for her novel The Maid, which has achieved global sales exceeding two million copies. Nita's latest work in the series, The Mistletoe Mystery, has recently been released.
The conversation will explore Nita's book series, her remarkable success in the literary world, and the inspiration she draws from the festive season, among other topics. This captivating dialogue is set to be featured in a forthcoming episode of Bookends with Mattea Roach. Attendees will also enjoy complimentary beverages including Tim Hortons coffee and hot chocolate, along with a selection of delightful treats.
This unique gathering contributes to CBC Toronto’s annual food bank initiative, Make the Season Kind, aimed at supporting the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening at 11:45 a.m. ET. While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to support the food bank through donations. The Daily Bread Food Bank will be present to accept non-perishable food items, as well as cash and electronic contributions.
Additionally, complimentary tickets can be reserved for live broadcasts of Laugh Out Loud, Here and Now, and Metro Morning at the Glenn Gould Studio on December 6, until supplies last.

Local food banks are currently facing extraordinary demands, with the past year witnessing a record 3.49 million client visits — nearly a million more than the previous year. Contributions to the Make the Season Kind campaign provide essential food support to those facing hunger as winter approaches.
In the past year, CBC Toronto, with generous contributions from the community, raised over one million dollars to support food banks in the Greater Toronto Area. Since 2015, CBC has facilitated the raising of over $51 million for food banks and various charities nationwide through its annual holiday initiatives.
