Attention to all busy minds and those feeling the strain of work!
As 2024 approaches, it's an ideal moment for individuals to take a step back and allow themselves some much-needed rest. Amelia, a newly certified Forest Therapy guide accredited by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT), invites participants to engage in a soothing experience in nature. This gathering will explore the concept of forest bathing, highlight its health benefits, and discuss its impact on nature therapy. Participants will embark on activities designed to promote relaxation, sensory awareness, and deeper connection with the natural world, while also sharing experiences in a communal setting. The experience will conclude with a calming tea session in the park.
It's important to note that while the session is not a traditional hike or workout, some light walking, standing, and sitting on the ground may be involved.
What to wear/bring:
The meeting point is located outside the Garden shop at Tanglin Gate / Visitor Services @ Botany Center, with the nearest entrance by Tanglin Gate near Gleneagles Medical Centre. Attendees should allow 10-15 minutes for a walk from the nearby Napier MRT station, and 25-30 minutes from the Botanic Gardens MRT station.
While it is preferable for participants to join at the beginning and stay for the entire experience, as moving mid-session may interrupt the flow, those interested in bringing children or pets should contact Amelia for potential future sessions tailored for younger audiences.
Should rain occur, the group welcomes it as part of the experience and will aim to continue unless severe weather conditions arise. Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate rain gear if needed!
