About Thandi Loewenson:
Thandi Loewenson, born in 1989 in Harare, is an accomplished architectural designer and researcher who utilizes design, fiction, and performance as tools for fostering political thought and collective action. Her work aims to explore alternative realities and encourages critical examination of the existing societal norms. Thandi employs fictional narratives to engage communities, policy makers, and fellow creatives in meaningful dialogues. In July 2024, she was honored with the Wheelwright Prize from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a prestigious award that includes a $100,000 grant for innovative architectural research. Additionally, she received a Special Mention at La Biennale di Venezia for her participation in The Laboratory of the Future in 2023.

The international public lecture series New Now Next, hosted by the Irish Architecture Foundation with support from Arup, features an impressive lineup of influential figures in politics, architecture, design, and cultural production.
