The UCL Centre for Capitalism Studies (CCS) is hosting its first Annual Conversation, addressing one of the most crucial topics of the current era.

This gathering marks the 10th anniversary of Thomas Piketty’s influential book, 'Capital in the 21st Century', and will feature prominent figures in the field of capitalism who will engage in a debate about its future.

The UCL Centre for Capitalism Studies is renowned for its rigorous and interdisciplinary examination of capitalism's past, present, and future. It unites UCL academics and students investigating the impact of markets, finance, and economic institutions on everyday life, societal change, and the ongoing contestation and transformation of these constructs.

Gillian Tett

Provost at King's College, Cambridge

With a background in anthropology, Gillian Tett previously served as Chairman of the US Editorial Board and America Editor-at-Large for the Financial Times. She continues to contribute a weekly column and remains on the editorial board of the FT. Tett is also the author of several books, including Anthro-Vision: A New Way to See in Business and Life and Fool's Gold: How Unrestrained Greed Corrupted a Dream, Shattered Global Markets and Unleashed a Catastrophe, which became a bestseller.
