2tonnes Workshop: A Path to a Low Carbon Future
No PRM access
Those who recognize the urgency of climate change but are uncertain about how to make a difference will find this workshop valuable. The focus is on both individual and collective actions—whether it’s shifting to a flexitarian diet, purchasing second-hand items, renovating homes, or cycling to work. Participants can also explore ways to engage with community organizations or workplace initiatives.
This workshop invites participants to envision a world scenario for a low-carbon transition and consider their potential influence in driving global change. By collaborating in teams, attendees will develop a transition strategy aimed at keeping climate change within a +1.5°C limit, aligning with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
Designed to be both informative and engaging, the workshop facilitates understanding of the necessary steps society needs to take to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Participants will engage in a live simulation after each decision-making round, revealing the consequences of their choices and tracking the progression towards the 2050 goal.
By the conclusion of the workshop, individuals will gain insight into what transitioning to net zero entails, including key actions to prioritize at different levels and identifying the sectors and actors that will be affected.
Through their participant account, attendees will uncover a variety of possible actions and gauge the magnitude of their impacts.
