On December 6, there will be a retrospective on the Ornamenta 2024, a regional cultural initiative in Germany's Northern Black Forest, coinciding with the launch of a new magazine issue from Tubelight, which features a significant article about Ornamenta. The discussion will broaden the focus from the local cultural program to international cultural collaborations and initiatives occurring in rural areas. Key topics include the influence of international programming on local communities and how local artistic environments contribute to global art biennials. The dialogue will explore potential models for ongoing collaborations with local entities in other countries and strategies for cultivating sustainable partnerships that yield long-lasting benefits.
The lineup of speakers includes Yvonne Dröge Wendel, a distinguished artist and the head of the Fine Arts department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, alongside Jules van den Langenberg, a curator, exhibition designer, and director known for his involvement in Ornamenta 2024.
The session will be facilitated by Astrid Mörk, a creative advisor representing DutchCulture.
