Integrated Solar Process Heat in Industry
Industries are facing the implementation of EU climate protection regulations in the coming years, including the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), the Taxonomy Regulation, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Additionally, the long-term security of gas supply is uncertain.
As a result, many companies are seeking alternatives to ensure their heat supply is economically viable and environmentally friendly over the long term. Approximately three-quarters of the industrial final energy demand is attributed to thermal processes, with one-third requiring temperatures up to 150°C. This heat demand can be covered with solar energy in an emissions-free and price-stable manner, and a transition can be made relatively quickly.
Solar process heat is already being utilized in various sectors of the manufacturing industry. At this gathering, practical experiences regarding solar energy supply in industrial operations will be shared. The presentations will provide entrepreneurs, energy managers, and project developers with firsthand insights from operational experiences. Additionally, they will receive information about the current funding call from the Climate and Energy Fund.
This initiative is a collaboration between Green Tech Valley, the Styrian Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Austria Solar. Participation is free of charge.
