Prepare for an Age Friendly Middlesbrough Initiative!
This training program encompasses:
· The concept of being Age Friendly
· Local demographics and research related to the older population in Middlesbrough
· Insights into the physical and psychological facets of aging, along with the impacts on local services and businesses through practical examples
· Recommendations on how to assist older individuals in improving their quality of life, focusing on mental health, sensory impairments, chronic illnesses, dementia, mobility issues, and medication effects
The session lasts for 3 hours and is conducted by Public Health South Tees. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts and engage actively throughout the training.
"The first half of the session was emotionally charged, and I am still reeling from it. It has changed the way I look at older people and the things that need to be kept in mind when engaging with them. It has a lasting impact ..both personally as well as guiding my work in the future." – training participant.
If assistance is required for registration or for any inquiries, participants are advised to email agefriendly@middlesbrough.gov.uk or contact Julie McGee at 01642 728262. Custom sessions can also be arranged for specific teams, businesses, or organizations.
