Festival Winds 2024 is a highly anticipated musical celebration organized by the Band Directors’ Association (Singapore). Taking place from December 10th to 15th, this festival showcases a wealth of musical talent and community enthusiasm.
This premier festival brings together young musicians aged 10 to 19 from various backgrounds, fostering inclusivity and a passion for music. Participants can choose from three diverse tracks:
1st Track - Aspiring Musician (Wind Ensemble):
This track is for primary and new secondary school players, nurturing their musical talents and encouraging their development.
2nd Track - Inclusive Ensemble (Wind Orchestra):
Open to individuals aged 13 and older with basic instrumental skills, this track emphasizes the joy of music-making and building friendships.
Participants will be placed into groups according to their experience, age, and audition results to ensure they are matched with the appropriate ensemble, maximizing their festival experience.
Throughout the festival, participants will benefit from masterclasses led by professional faculty, rehearse for four days, and conclude their journey with an impressive concert featuring the National Youth Winds, guided by renowned directors such as Mr. Wong Yin Xuan and Mr. Marvin Khoo.

This festival presents a valuable chance for young musicians to perform at the prestigious School of the Arts (SOTA) Concert Hall.
The National Youth Winds, under the direction of ME5 Ignatius Wang, will also be featured, heightening the excitement for all involved as they witness the debut of this esteemed youth wind orchestra.
