2024 Sport Tasman Nelson Sport + Recreation Awards Summary

Friday, December 6, at the Rutherford Hotel.

The evening begins at 6 pm, with seating by 6.30 pm.

The Sport Tasman Nelson Sport + Recreation Awards celebrate exceptional achievements and contributions by athletes in the Nelson and Tasman regions. This prestigious ceremony honors both local and international champions who have had a significant influence on the community through sports.

The awards dinner will be held at the Rutherford Hotel in 2024, expanding to recognize both individual excellence and impactful community projects in the realm of sports and recreation. Throughout the night, community leaders will be recognized alongside top-tier athletes.

The highlight of the evening is the Nelson Sportsperson of the Year award, awarded to the best performer selected from the individual and team high-performance categories.

The ceremony will feature MC Jason Pine and guest speaker Chelsea Lane, a seasoned Performance Therapist with two decades of experience working with elite athletes globally. Chelsea has played an influential role with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and previously with the Golden State Warriors, contributing to the teams' remarkable achievements in professional basketball.

Chelsea’s career represents a significant achievement for women in sports, and she brings valuable insights to the attendees, sharing her experiences from working with high-performing athletes.
