The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) encompasses the design and engineering of smart machines capable of executing tasks that typically demand human intelligence, including perception, reasoning, learning, and decision-making. AI is revolutionizing multiple sectors, such as business, entertainment, healthcare, and education, aiding organizations in optimizing various processes including customer service, credit assessments, and financial risk management.
A prominent technique in AI is Machine Learning (ML), which involves developing computational models that learn from data and enhance their performance over time. ML has evolved from traditional statistics and AI, benefitting from advancements in computational power, the availability of extensive data, and algorithm innovations, leading to the emergence of Deep Learning (DL). DL applications include natural language processing, computer vision, speech recognition, recommendation systems, and autonomous vehicles.
AI is a dynamic and rapidly advancing field, continuously transforming with new findings and innovations. Among the latest breakthroughs is OpenAI's Generative Pre-trained Transformer 4 (GPT-4), a leading example of Generative AI. It represents one of the most potent natural language models, capable of producing coherent and articulate text on various subjects, provided with minimal input. Additionally, it can respond to inquiries, draft essays, compose emails, and generate summaries, among other tasks. GPT-4 is built upon a sophisticated neural network with around 1 trillion parameters, trained using extensive textual data sourced from the internet.
